More of same for White

LSU commit Tre'Davious White

Green Oaks stud and LSU verbal commitment Tre'Davious White talks with TSD's Austin Cooper about the end of his recruiting process, which current Tiger senior helped the Class of 2013 come closer together.

For LSU commitment Tre'Davious White, the recruiting process was one that ended before it ever really gained any steam.

White committed to LSU shortly after receiving an offer in February, and he hasn't looked back since. The 5-11 170-pound Green Oaks High School standout had a chance to take in the matchup between LSU and Ole Miss this weekend, and White came away impressed.

"It is always the same down there," said White. "Whenever you go to Baton Rouge you always see something new, but the game was great. It was really exciting and I loved the visit."

While on campus, White had a chance to speak with the LSU staff, something he has had a chance to do every time he has been in town. However, this time the conversation was a little different for White, an athlete who most likely projects as a cornerback on the collegiate level.

"It was basically them telling me how I will be a huge asset to the team," said White. "They said hard work will get me on the field quickly down there, and they really encourage hard work and being humble. They told me if I do those things then I will see the field early."

One thing White has been thankful for since giving his commitment to LSU is that other colleges have backed off and let him enjoy his final year of high school.

"Really ever since I committed all of the other schools have backed off and just let me do my thing," explained White. "It has been really nice to get this done with and be able to enjoy my senior season."

The Shreveport native has also had a chance to build strong relationships with most of the commitments for the Class of 2013. White explained that the development of their relationships with one another happened because of the advice of one current LSU senior.

"I have great relationships with all of our recruiting class," said White. "We all played together on that 7-on-7 team, and we got really close this summer by traveling together and everything. Russell Shepard has really been an example for us of how recruiting classes are supposed to work together."

With White being from Louisiana, he has had plenty of opportunities to take in the LSU campus. While he hasn't really had a chance to visit any other schools, White explained that he has no plans of doing so and LSU will be the last school he visits.

"Right now the only visit I have planned is my official visit to LSU," said White. "I'm not exactly sure when that will be yet. I also don't plan on visiting any other schools this fall or anytime."
